What area do you cover?

Solent K9 operates within a 5 mile radius of Havant. This includes Havant, Leigh Park, Emsworth, Bedhampton, Rowlands Castle, Farlington, Drayton. Other areas can be catered for.

There is an additional charge of 45p per mile for travel in excess of 5 miles to your home for dog walking, dog sitting and home visits.

Are you insured and police checked?

Yes. Certificates will be available for you to see at our initial meeting.

What training have you had?

I have attended two First Aid for Dogs courses and I have CAP 1 & 2 Clicker training qualifications. (Competency Assessment Programme) passing with Distinction. Plus 17 years personal experience with my own dogs. I have also attended, in person and online Concept training courses, the new way of training your dog, with positive reinforcement and games.

How long will you walk my dog for?

All walks are a minimum of 45 minutes. We will cater for the individual dog’s needs and requirements.

Where will you walk my dog?

All dog walks will begin at the pick up address, either from their house or a ride in the van to the woods, the beach or the park.

How many dogs do you walk at a time?

All dogs receive close attention, and are therefore walked on their own, or with their house mates or with a small friendly group of other dogs that we walk, as arranged on the initial visit with you.

Will you let my dog off the lead?

Dogs will not be let off the lead unless agreed in advance with the owner and we are happy that the dog has a good recall. We will require your written permission.

We can use a long line when in an area safe to do so (never on pavements) so your dog has more freedom to run, sniff & play.

Will you have water/snacks?

We always carry fresh water and suitable treats for the dogs. Special dietary arrangements can be catered for.

How do you return the dog?

Following the walk, We will clean & dry your dog(s) and either return them to you, or leave them in a pre-arranged part of your house and feed them if required.

How far in advance can I book dog walking slots?

We want to offer you consistency, and the opportunity to book the same slot each week. Therefore dog walking slots can be booked one month in advance.

If you take advantage of the special offer or the monthly package - you can book all your walks in advance.

However, it is possible to book a dog walking slot a week in advance in special circumstances.

What happens if I need to cancel my dog walking slot?

If you provide more than 24 hours notice you will be not be charged. If you cancel within 24 hours you will be charged 100% of the price.

Do you offer any concessions?

Solent K9 offers concessions and special rates for the elderly, owners with special needs and owners that need to spend time in hospital.
